Is it normal for the M1000RR to use a lot of oil?
Some oil use is normal. The M engine has two-ring pistons, so it can use more oil than an S1000RR. Check the level often and see your dealer if the use is extreme; some early engines were replaced under warranty.

BMW Motorrad ADVANTEC Ultimate 5W-40.
When is the engine service and valve clearance check due?
At 30,000 km / 18,000 miles, like the S1000RR. The valve clearances are checked at that service.
What tyre sizes does the M1000RR take?
120/70 ZR17 at the front and 200/55 ZR17 at the rear.
Which spark plug does it use?
Four NGK LMAR9FI-10G iridium plugs, BMW part number 12 12 8 396 345. They are replaced every 30,000 km.
